Mangaluru, Jun 9: High drama was witnessed at Natekal primary health care centre near Ullal when an accused in illegal cow trafficking case tried to escape from the clutches of police.
Konaje police personnel had brought three accused in theft case for medical examination to Natekal primary health care centre. Mohammed Mustafa, one of the accused, jumped on to the hill near the health centre and started running. Police constable M B Asundi of Konaje police station chased him in cinematic style and caught the accused. In the chase, Asundi sustained some injury.
Earlier, sub inspector Yogeshwar and personnel were patrolling near Chelur check post. They intercepted a car that was going from Melkar to Sajipa and found a calf in the car that was being transported illegally. So they took three inmates in the car into custody. When the three were taken to for medical check-up this high drama unfolded. However, due to the determination and grit of police personnel Asundi, the culprit was caught from escaping.
