Medical Counters to Come Up at Delhi Metro Stations

New Delhi, March 8 (IANS) Medical counters will be set up at various Delhi Metro stations to provide medical assistance to commuters, parliament was told Tuesday.

"A private sector and a government sector hospital has been approached by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd in this regard," Minister of state for Urban Development Saugata Roy told Lok Sabha in a written reply.

Replying to another question, Roy said that extension of Delhi Metro from Anand Vihar to Vaishali area Ghaziabad has been recommended by a committee on Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS).

However, no proposals have been received by the union government for extension of Delhi Metro to Kundli (Sonepat) and between Noida and Greater Noida, he added.

The DMRC however has reported that they have prepared a detailed project report for metro connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida.
