Mangalore: Sprinter Ashwini Becomes Brand Ambassador of Corporation Bank

Mangalore, Mar 9: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the public sector Corporation Bank appointed ace sprinter, Ashwini A C, as the bank’s brand ambassador. Ashwini has been appointed as manager of the Bank. This is another initiative undertaken by the bank towards empowerment of women.

The new brand ambassador of Corporation Bank was launched by veteran sandalwood cine actress, Tara, at a launch event organized in Bangalore on Tuesday March 8. Ashwini had won gold medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and she also won two gold medals in the recently-concluded Asian Games, in which, besides bagging individual gold medal in 400 metres hurdles, her relay team also annexed gold medal in 4x400 metres relay. Ashwini has been conferred the Rajyotsava Award by Karnataka government, chosen as the Indian of the year 2010 by CNN IBN for her achievement in sports, and also as the E-Varshada Kannadiga by Press Club Bangalore, in the year 2010.

Ramnath Pradeep, chairman and managing director of Corporation Bank, while announcing the appointment of the new brand ambassador, said that his bank has always followed time-tested banking ethos and commitment towards highest quality of service to customers. He said he finds in Ashwini the same qualities the bank cherishes, i.e., innovation, change, and excellence in performance. While hailing Ashwini for her dedicated work that has brought laurels for India, he said the bank feels proud and privileged to have her as the bank’s brand ambassador.

Tara, addressing the gathering, appreciated the bank’s choice of Ashwini as the brand ambassador of the bank on the occasion of the 100th International Women’s Day.

Ashwini expressed great pleasure in becoming an employee of Corporation Bank and also the brand ambassador of this premier public sector bank. She hailed Corporation bank as an institution that has always valued rich Indian traditions of service to the community, and which is widely recognized as a well-run bank. While lauding Corporation Bank for its commitment to embrace changes and face challenges successfully, she said she was excited to be a part of Corporation bank.
