Conversion Allegations False – Speedy Action through Special Officer Sought

Mangalore, Mar 10: The party which was alleged of abduction and conversion of 18-year old Nitin Poojary, in its defence submitted a memorandum claiming innocence to police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh here on Thursday March 10.

Representing the Christian community in general and alleged party in particular Congress leader Ivan D’Souza said that the allegations against Jillu were completely fabricated and untrue. Stressing that the allegations were a blot on Catholic community’s integrity, D’Souza demanded that a special officer should be appointed to investigate the case and bring the whole truth out. Singh in turn assured of required action at the earliest.

Speaking to Singh, D’Souza said that the whole incident which is blown out of proportion is a figment of imagination by Nitin who was out to take revenge against Jillu. It is the outcome of Jillu reprimanding Nitin for being irregular at work for his own good summoning Nitin home. There is no denying that an angry Jillu would have raised a hand or two on the boy. Nitin was an employee at juice centre owned by Jillu near Kankanady since 20 days, informed D’Souza.

He further said that a man of Jillu’s Calibre can never indulge in such an act. In fact most of his friends are from the Hindu community to which Nitin belongs. Thereby, the allegations of attempt of forceful conversion or conversion is baseless, he narrated.

He alleged Bajrang Dal activists painting a different picture to an otherwise simple incident and demanded strict action against the Bajrang Dal leaders responsible.  Further, these activists have forcible has closed down the juice centre resulting in financial loss to Jillu, said D’Souza.

Mr. Jillu is neighbour to my brother in Ashok Nagar and I know him since many years. This man is into catering business and we have never seen him in such conversion activities. This man is business minded and there is no reason for him to go for any conversions.

In fact he has more enemies in Christian community and even the chruches like Urwa Church refuse to give the hall if the catering is done by Jillu. So why should Jillu indulge in conversions?

This may be another attempt by Bajarang Dal to give a communal angle (for their political benifit)to the fight between two individulas (Jillu and Nitin Poojary)since they belong to different religion.

In India Christians have never forced anyone to convert. If Bajrang Dal or anyone have any proof that there is forced conversion, why don't they go to the court with proof. If any Hindu has changed his religion for a small amount of money, it shows hinduism in a very bad light. Anyone can believe or convert to any religions. It is his/her rights given by the constitution of India. If anyone is against the constitution, he is anti-Indian.

In case there is a forced conversion, that person is not held back in chains. He can freely go back to worship or believe in any religion. These type of false accusation are done by RSS and Bajrang Dal and not by Hindus. Hindus are very peace loving and tolerant people. Jai Hind.

Dear Clara Lews I quote your comment: The Torah does not make reference to Jesus at all, that come from the Jewish religion. Unquote. Jesus was quoting from Torah, the Jewish scriptures in the New Testament because Jesus was a Jew. The difference between the catholic & other denomination Christians are, we the Catholics do not go in-depth & references as other denominations perceive the scriptures accurately.
Jews were liberated by the word of God & all Israelites were in the wilderness. Moses was telling to Jews: God will raise a prophet unto you among your brethren & among you. Deuteronomy 18:17-19 is the verse prediction of Jesus because Jesus descendents were Israelites. Moreover, Prophet Isaiah, Psalms, the Proverbs, Jeremiah, Luke 24:44, Ezekiel, etc., discloses the predictions works, the Word in flesh, suffering, death & crucifixion.

THE REFERENCE TO JOHN 14:16 SAYS JESUS WILL PRAY TO HEAVENLY FATHER & WILL SEND THE COMFORTER/THE HOLY SPIRIT RECEIVED BY THE APOSTLES ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST ACTS 1:2, 1:8 ACTS 2:1-14

NOTE TO READERS: 14:16 JESUS SON OF GOD CLEARLY SAYS, WILL PRAY TO HEAVENLY FATHER & THE FATHER WILL SEND THE COMFORTER/ TO ABIDE WITH YOU/APOSTLES FOR EVER.
KORAN CLEARLY SPECIFIES THAT GOD HAS NO FATHER & JESUS IS NOT SON OF GOD. HOW THEN THESE VERSES VALIDATE PROPHET-HOOD OF MUHAMMAD. MAJOR SENSUAL, VISUAL & PERCEPTION PROBLEMS. THE CLAIMS OF MR. MUSTAFA, KSA QUOTED VERSES OF THE HOLY BIBLE NULLIFIES PROPHET-HOOD FROM HIS OWN HOLY BOOK.

Conversion is a individual choice and right of any civilised person. It is a wise step to embrace any good Religion and lead a peaceful life and die peacefully, rather than roaming like a satan and no salvation. We get restless for nothing and create tension in the society. In fact Police have importantant jobs to do.

Holy Bible, Koran & Torah are virtually identical up to the New Testament?
The only thing that varies, Holy Bible, Koran & Torah is the name in which God is Called by. Where as the Holy Bible Recognises Jesus as the SON OF GOD, The Koran recognizes Jesus as a Prophet and it also recongnizes another Prophet who came after Jesus name Muhammad, The Torah does not make reference to Jesus at all, that come from the Jewish religion.

Holy Bible, Torah & Koran all 3 teach that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God,this is not at all strictly a New Testament,New Testament teaches Jesus brings Glory to the World,Holy Bible,Torah & Koran all 3 are the Word Of God, and that the main important thing is to have a personal relationship with God and yourself, regardless as to the name in which you choose to call him by,read his word, according to the word that you were taught to read, even though some other probably changed over the past 2000 years that translations and words may have gotten mixed up!do unto others as yea would have them do unto you,and recognize that all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

    Holy Bible,Koran & Torah all 3 books contain the story of Adam & Eve, Cain&Abel, Noah's Ark, Abraham,Issac,Elijah,King David,Jacob & Israel Etc,etc.,
Judaism uses Old Testament or Hebrew Bible, Christian uses Bible containing both Old Testament and New Testament.

Every individual has the freedom and right to choose and practice the religion of his choice based on his personal belief. It is the human right.Nobody can force anyone to remain in a particular religion or to change one's religion. Irrespective of the religion which is being practiced, the general culture of the mother country can still be followed and the individual can still be patriotic and loyal to his country.
Stray incidents of conversion by choice take place in every religion.

Hi,what do you know about 'cast system' and how it is dirty?.Dirty is your mindset. Those who are professing abolition of caste system are them selves following it utmost.Caste system is essence of soceity but purely a private matter. It will be there as long as mankind is there.Every man or woman is marrying from their caste only(by and large)which underline of existance of such a practice and you are telling dirty caste system.Have you married from your community only?

Please tell frankly. If yes don't write here just to pretend your duplicate nature.Take your community alone. There is untouchablity in your community also and disparity among various sects(dalit christian etc)and seperate church for them etc.,Try to be practical and don't pretend. As long as christianity is peace loving, please get acquainted with American history to your knowledge.

Manavit Mangalore, Our fore fathers might have become cathoilics abandoning the Hindu religion. The reason could be the dirty caste system, untouchability, bad status to widows given in the past, superstitions, lack of faith in the religion, no direction given by temple priests ( to name a few ) Hence when catholic missionaries came propagating the message of love and peace in Jesus Christ they were enlightened with the true religion of brotherhood. We are very happy our forefathers became catholics and we are happy that we are blessed in this religion.

Definitely it is a fabricated story and this is an attempt by anti social elements in mangalore to set their scores against Christians.Jillu is a reputed businessman in mangalore and we know him since number of years.Any fool can understand that this is a employment matter between Jillu and Nitin. It is sad that some people are trying to create communal disorder out of a labour issue. If this kind of activities are allowed to be continued, every day there will be communal issues in mangalore. Every businessman or institution will have to think hundred times before giving employment to people of other communities. Just creating an issue and tension out of nothing is the job of certain people who do not know what is unity, diversity and integrity. India has become famous for mixing religion and politics. And now if we allow to mix business, employment and religion, India will not become a developed country at all. So it is better all employers come together protest this issue.Today it is Jillu and tomorrow many be any other businessman from any community.

All these false accusations against our Mangalorean brethren hurts deeply. I can recall the days gone by when the Christian community was held in great esteem even by our Hindu brethren. Such tactics of avenging the Christian community through the Bajrang Dal card is driving a deep wedge between the two communities. Someone is hell bent on defaming the Christian institutions of Mangalore. Remember the church attacks ? They fabricated anti-hindu material and succeeded in attacking the churches. They even succeeded in turning a Government led enquiry in their favor. Now they stage another drama to garner public anger. But un-fortunately christians are at the receiving end as local News papers and TV channels would have given ample publicity to this incident by now.

In my opinion instead of Nitin, being educated, BD staff/planners should be educated. So that they can plan a better episode the next time.

God bless Ivan D'Souza, he has bought the truth to light. (this is the reason we vote for secular Congress) He is my fourite politician. Nowadays it has become a fashion for fanatics to accuse Christians about conversion whenever they want to take revenge. We hope Police will look into this allegation and take right steps to avoid such losses n embarrassment to Christians. Believe me we don’t want anyone to convert to Christianity to reduce the rush in Heaven, so that we may enjoy in Gods kingdom.

I guess, Nithin didn't know, one cannot get converted without cahtolic/christian priest's presence. Sorry, Nithin. Your story just didn't fit the truth from the beginning.

Well, a person who really knows the real procedure of Christianity conversion will never believe in this kind of false drama /stories. Only those who don’t know about it may believe. Bagrangdalies have made fools for themselves by playing such a big drama. The Christianity conversion is a very long procedure. Mr. Singh should take this matter further and should take action against those who are planning to spoil the other community’s name in the name of conversion.

the young adult Nitin seems to turn a great criminal to disrupt the communal harmony in a year or two. I suppose the responsible people have to better educate him on positive socialization & value of education, money & each religion. BEWARE OF THE SMOKEY MAN.

I know Jillu personally from his childhood. He has achived a lot coz of his hardwork. I can add a lot of his back ground his difficulties in his days as a child but this might embarass or hurt Jillu.
I endorse that this is completely rubbish because i myslef am a Hindu and msot of Jillu's friends are hindus.
I do not know why this Bajrang Dal is trying to create problems all the time. I feel this organisation should be banned. Guys with idle mind and need a bit of publicity indulge in these activities.
Anyway under what authority is BD policing???
I hope an uprising like the middle east turns out here and chase this BD, Ram Sena guys out in exile.

I had refrained earlier to comment to know the both sides version. Whatever glory we have acheived as undevided Dakshina Kannada in terms of education, health care, banking - the contribution from christian community is very huge - only other institution/person can be compared to christian brothers an sisters is Dharmastala Heggade. Any activity of spread of hatred and violence should be dealt with strong action. Hope necessary action will be taken and harmony will prevail in Undevided Dakshina Kannada.

Now Nitin should be made to understand that his bogus story could have led invariablly to a full blown communal disharmony. At 18, he should be eagerly work hard and get educated (there are two evening colleges to go if he has passed his matriculation) to make a better future. I would personally pay his tuition fee for two years. Yes, education will convert him from an ignorant to an educated one.
