Mangalore Varsity Holds Magnum 2011 Beyond Horizon

Mangalore, Mar 10: The department of Commerce, Mangalore University held the university fest ‘Magnum 2011’, modelled on the motto, ‘ to unleash the talent potential of student community and bring out the talent horizon’, at Yakshagana Kala Mandira, Mangalagangothri, here on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9.
Chief guest, Prof T C Shivashankara Murthy, vice- chancellor of Mangalore University said that the nation is full of young men and women who can change the current situation of India. There is no lack of job in the country, he added.
Speaking about the importance of post graduation, he stressed that there is just three to four percent of the students who opt for the higher studies. The rest of the students prefer to either go for work or discontinue their studies. Self-determination and perfection in what one does, is the best policy for students pursuing higher education, added Murthy.
Ashwin Ajila, managing director of iNurture Education, was the guest of honour. He said that the main aim of education is to bridge the gap between university related courses and industry requirements.
Chairman Prof D S Yadapadithaya presided over the programme.
Staff co-ordinator Shakira Irfana, vice-president Rovina Soan, student president Sridevi Rao among others were present on the occasion.
S Ganesh Rao, chairman Karavali College, Prof A Raghuram, dean of the commerce department and Prof Yadapadithaya were present for the valediction.
