The killer has been identified as Vijay alias Ram Singh. His associates, Ashraf and Tabrez, were detained from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, about 400 km from Delhi.

"The duo took the assailant to Gurgaon and helped him escape. All three were staying in the Naraina area for quite long. They used to work in knitting and weaving factory in the area as daily wage labourers," Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) H.G.S. Dhaliwal told reporters.

"He killed her to avenge humiliation. We are questioning them and the killer will be arrested soon," Dhaliwal said.

A resident of Naraina area, Radhika was a second-year student of Ram Lal Anand College in Shantiniketan in south Delhi. She was crossing a foot overbridge near Dhaula Kuan with her friends when a man suddenly shot her in the neck from behind and disappeared into the crowd of students and office-goers Tuesday morning.
