Dayanand Bangera, katapdy / Abu Dhabi what's the problem in travelling from your place to Bajpe. I dont think so there should'nt be any problem. If that's the case what will you say for Bangalore's new international airport. The previous old airport was in the city centre and now the new international airport is nearly 35 km away from the city. Sometimes it takes nearly 2 to 3 hours to go to the other end of the Bangalore from the new airport. So travelling from your place to Bajpe should'nt be any problem.

Mr.Joe, we do not want to thank Mallya for Air port. It was obvious region was suppose to get Air port. But, it was Malya who played double game in selecting Bajpe for Air port. Padubidri was in first list and Managalore lobby has selected Bajpe for their convenience. Padubidri would have been safer. Today, again New airport has become closer to Mangaloreans. When you are going to airport, you feel like climbing Everest. Era of cheating public has gone.

Dear NRI of Mangalore and surrounding areas why should we not contribute 1% of our salary toward's extending the Runway and making it safe for us. We will be the one's using it and will be safe for us, we dont want one more tragedy in our Airport hope you all will agree. We can do this through Tulu Koota or some other organization. I believe there are so many Mangalorean's that one or two month's contribution is enough.

I am extremely happy to learn that The Golden Jubilee Celebrations of The Mangalore Airport will be inaugurated at The Auditorium of St. Aloysius High School by Vayalur Ravi. The early architect of The Airport was Sri Srinvas Malya an alumni of St. Aloysius and hence the cite for the inauguration of festivities is the right choice. We have come a long way ever since Indian Airlines commenced operations in 1951. I recall flying on Dakotas in the very early fifties. It was a thrilling experience cruising at an altitude of 5000 ft. over Marmagoa Harbour, Karwar, Bhatkal and Malpe. The landing at Bajpe on a narrow air strip was an adventure. I recall having paid an airfare of less than Rs.100/-. We have come a long way ever since - thanks to the foresight of Mr. Malya and today we have an Airport of International standards. A lot of credit goes to Mr. Vasudeva the present Airport Direct of name and fame. Here is a person of impeccable character - honest to the core. He has been greatly responsible for the all round growth of Mangalore
Airport. It seems that his tenure will come to a close in two years. However considering his contribution towards the growth of The Airport and ability I hope he will be asked to continue his services for at last another three years.
