Bantwal, June 16: A person was arrested for forging the signature and stamp of a government doctor and attempting to cheat the authorities. The incident was reported under the Vittal police station.
The arrested accused is identified as Sheik Firoz Adam (26), a resident of Vittal school road. The have arrested the accused acting on a complaint filed by Dr Vedavathi of Vittal community health center.
Adam was arrested for using a duplicate seal and stamp on a fitness certificate of a customer.
Earlier, a man named Isbu, had filed an application for the renewal of his driving license at Adam’s father’s National Driving School. To renew a license, one should get a fitness certificate from the doctor, which is the rule of the government. Adam had forged the signature and seal of the doctor and sent it to the RTO office.
As there was a difference in the original signature of the doctor and the fitness certificate of the National Driving School, RTO inspector had sent the fitness certificate to the doctor for re-examination. When the doctor came to know that the signature was forged, she filed a complaint at Vittal police station.
As per the complaint, Vittal police sub-inspector Nagaraj H took Isbu into custody for inquiry. He informed that he had given an application for license renewal at National Driving School. When the police detained Adam and inquired, the incident came to light.
The accused was produced to the court who granted the judicial custody.
