Bengaluru, Jun 18: It has come to light that there are more than 2.5 lac Bangladeshis are living in the state and efforts are on to make their stay legal. Surprisingly, all of them possess legal Aadhar card and voter ID.
Out of the 2.5 lac illegal immigrants, more than two lac are living in and around the capital city according to the data collected by central and state investigating agencies.
Sources said that central and state intelligence, internal security department and other investigating agencies are tracking this matter continuously and a report is made ready to be sent to the union government.

Vacant sites in Bengaluru city, rural areas and nearby police station limits are taken on lease by those who have come illegally from Bangladesh and they have built temporary sheds on those vacant sites and are giving it to those who arrive from Bangladesh. The sources also said that Bangladeshis are working in estates of Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and Madikeri also.
The network of sending Bangladeshis illegally to India is active in border area. Mostly Bengaluru is preferred by the immigrants. The mafia gets Rs 16,000 behind every person and they are brought into India through West Bengal border with Bangladesh.
