Bengaluru, Jun 18: While BJP National President JP Nadda arrived in Bengaluru on Saturday to participate in the party’s national camp at Yelahanka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai kept himself busy by visiting various venues of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day programme in the city on June 20 and 21 to oversee the arrangements in the morning and later participated in the BJP national camp.
State BJP in-charge Arun Singh, State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP National General Secretary are among the key participants in the party camp along with the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister inspected the venue of Modi’s programme at the Indian Institute of Science along BBMP Administrator Rakesh Singh, Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath and other officers.
Bommai also visited the Ambedkar School of Economics at the Jnanabharathi Campus, which is being inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
The Chief Minister also inspected the venue of the Prime Minister’s public meeting near Kommaghatta in Yeshwanthpur assembly constituency.
Details of PM’s visit
Modi will be arriving at the Yelahanka airport at 11.55 am on June 20 and will be proceeding to the Indian Institute of Science by helicopter. He will be inaugurating the Brain Cell Development Centre being established by Kris Gopalakrishna at a cost of Rs 450 crore and later laying the foundation stone for the 850-bed Research Hospital being built by Mind Tree Company.
The Prime Minister will be laying the foundation stone for the Rs 15,000 crore Bengaluru Suburban Railway project and other related projects.
The Prime Minister will be leaving to Mysuru to visit the Chamundi Hills and also the Suttur Mutt on June 20 evening, and on will be participating in the International Yoga Day.
The Chief Minister said all the invitees and participants to the public programmes need to produce their Covid vaccination certificates and the visitors to the indoor programmes must undergo Covid tests.
“We are making all efforts to ensure that the Prime Minister’s programmes are held smoothly and become a success,’’ Bommai said.
