Mangaluru, Jun 18: Villagers gheraoed the tahsildar under Moodushedde gram panchayat limits here on Saturday June 18.

Villagers gheraoed tahsildar Purandar Hegde during the 'Gramavastvya' (village Stay) programme. They demanded to change the title deeds.

It is said that as the tahshildar stated that the title deed cannot be changed, he was gheraoed by the villagers. To prevent the officials from leaving, the villagers also locked the doors of the hall.

Later, after the MLA assured of completing their work, the officials were let off. The MLA assured of the villagers of getting their work done and also of providing new tittle deeds within 15 days.
