Mangalore: Seven-year Old Boy Dies After Thrown-off from Mini Lorry Rammed Motorbike

Mangalore, Mar 13: In a a shocking accident that occurred in front of the Mangaladevi temple near Jeppu on Sunday March 13 morning a seven-year-old boy died when a mini-lorry rammed into a motorbike moving in the same direction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The victim has been identified as Prajwal, son of Ravi Rao Acharya, a resident of Hoige Bazar. Prajwal was thrown off the bike and died on the spot due to the impact of the accident. But Shama Rao had a miraculous escape ending up fracturing his hand though thrown off on to different direction.

The boy was returning home with his grandfather Shama Rao Acharya, aged 58, who was driving the Kawasaki Boxer motor bike. They had been to the market to buy vegetables.

The residents of area soon gathered on the spot and expressed shock and grief over the incident. They informed the police inspector Gopalkrishna Rao, who visited the spot and assured to take steps to put up speed breakers on the Pandeshwar - Mangaladevi stretch on people's demand.

The driver of the vehicle has fled the scene. A case has been registered by the traffic east police.

    Blaming the drivers is wrong. Blame the govt. for not providing proper good, wide roads with seperate multi lanes. No proper pavements even after these many years of independance. Corrupt politicians, currpt system !!!

    Very sad news this is the first incident of death in front of Mangaladevi Temple in earlier accident there is not much casuaulties This is the pure negligence of the area Corporator. The public demanded for putting speed breaker in the roads. It is duty of Mangalore Corporation to put speed breakers. Now all the vehicle from Kerala is going thru Mangaladevi Temple Road with high speed. To stop them the speed breaker is necessary. If the Corporator is responded to the public request we would have save the small childs life. Due to the neglegence of the Mangaladevi Corporator the incident was happen.

    It was a shocking news on sunday morning.Because of the negligence of authorities, a boy lost his life & the situation of the parents ???.Who will bear the loss ?Why the authorities are not doing their duty perfectly even after getting govt salary.They should be punished to the maximum as they have failed to put speed breakers & notice about the speed limit in such a place.Now the authorities will wake up & express their condolence & keep quite.Thisis what India today.No govt authority works properly.These people should be sent to jail.Thats all.

    So ultimately for a speedbreaker to be put up a life must be lost? Authorities realise all this once the damage has been done?
    What happened to the speed breakers near lower bendur? Wasn't a gentleman run over by youth on the foothpath, rashly driving an Indica years back which prompted authorities to put up the speedbreakers? And prior to the Presidential visit to our city, the speedbreakers were removed. God knows how many young children life is in danger because of such rash drivers!!

    Very sad to hear the news. God bless and must be with him in Heaven.

    The best way is that the rule should be implemented ( In India) that the pillion riders should be atleast 18 years of age to ride on a bike and also be well protected with the proper gear (gear.. I mean knee and shin pads, Helmet etc) and that too only on GOOD roads.

    it is only in India we find that there are even three/ five people seen riding a bike even on pot holed roads. I know that for economic reasons people do that, but setting that aside, for safety sake it should be strictly implemented.

    Even in USA , if you ride a BICYCLE, it is mandatory to wear a Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads and a vest with flourscent color else, you are fined. If it is achild, then the parent/s will be fined and also criminally prosecuted.

    Very sad news!! the little anjel is innocent of this mistake, his time is wriiten on that please god give courage & strength to his parents & dear ones to bear the loss of this child, cannot imagine this situation may his soul rest in peace praying for this family,, Indian travelling specially in bus is a tragic please leaders do concentrate on this roads & drivers first to avoid killing innocent people!!!!

    The driver of the lorry is not a manglorean, but an outsider that's why he was not familiar of that road. The area is not at all busy and it is the negligence of the driver and so he has to be punished in a very harsh way.
