New Delhi: Babri Mosque Demolition Badly Affected BJP's Image: Advani

New Delhi, March 13 (PTI) Senior BJP leader L K Advani today said that he felt the demolition of the Babri mosque in 1992 had "badly dented" the credibility of his party.

Recalling a newspaper article he had written a fortnight after the demolition, he said that while describing the genesis of evolution of Ayodhya movement, he had said that the day the disputed structure was pulled down was the saddest day of his life.

In the latest post on his blog, Advani said that some colleagues had criticised him for that statement saying, "Why he was being apologetic about the development?"

Advani said he had replied, "I am not at all apologetic. Indeed, I am proud of my association with the Ayodhya movement. But I am extremely sad that our party?s credibility has been badly dented by the happenings of December 6.

This is a note coming from a seasoned politician, a leader among the people, LK Advani, whose every decision plays a vital role. He takes credit of being responsible to support the demolition of the Babri Mosque, triggered by the saffron co...lor. Also they all knew the consequences of this demolition, that would lead to massive communal violence in India, killing “THOUSANDS” of Innocent Indian’s.
So directly indirectly he and other members are involved in the killing of Innocent Indians. They still take pride in their action and decision.

There is no difference between a Terrorist and them. A terrorist cowardly plants a bomb and are responsible for killing innocent people. These politicians did the same. Planned the demolition, openly supported it and not saddened for their involvement for killing *3000* innocent people. So technically no difference between them and a Terrorist.

If they waited for the Courts Judgement, and let the mosque be, There were no Prayer conducted in that Moque anyways....it was sealed by the Court. Today there would be more UNITY among Indians!!!! Many would have not lost their dear and near ones.

Mr. Advani, On the 6th of December, 1992, you and your wife were the two who posed the TV camera and showed your happiness of demolishing the mosque. Today you came to know that it affected your political career.
You were thinking that what you did was your political gain and today you are regretting because of your politically lose.

For younr kind inforamtion, in that particulr flight all the passenger were not BJP memebrws or only hindus or all are Adnavi relatives, in fact al Indian were there & so he saved all. For all Congress suppporters, during SMKrishna regime why police did not attack when veerapan abducted Rajkumar?

Lydia, I belive you were in that pub when BD attacked that. Anyhow if it was not demolished at that this time when we build temple we would have demolished that.

Mr Advani has never regretted so far that he has released terriorist accompanied by foreign minister Mr Jaswanth Singh to Khandhar by a special flight. I would be proud of Mr.Advani if he had apologised to the nation on this issue becase it was a national shame and a total failure by the then ruling BJP party which was barking so much against terrorism.

He should have apologised he a weak Home Minister and accepted the responsibility that today the increase in terrorism is just because of this mistake committed by him. However we find Mr Advani regretting day by day for some reason or the other.Perhaps he has changed.

Mr. Advani is not apologetic about the demolition, he is worried about his party's stand for future election. These political people are not bothered about any ordinary people's life, they are concerned about their own life and fame and power. Political people should have one theme i.e. we are all Indians, doesn't matter he is a Hindu, Muslim, Christian or any religion. We are children of one God and make peace in the country not pieces. Life is short we all will go one day and will have to answer to HIM what good and bad we have done in this world.

The spiritual quotient that exist in every person, if not now one day it will come out & known to all of us, if not in this world at least in the eternal world.
That is exactly witnessing in Advani's soul, at least repent now than later.

In a democratic country..when a mob openly conspires to destroy a mosque and goverment stands a mere spectator without taking action against them..it hurts the social fabric of the society. Those who believe in god would never do such crime of destroying a place of worship..fanatics should have no place in this nation if we have to dwell peacefully.

Again ur words ::== Indeed, I am proud of my association with the Ayodhya movement.

Hence, you learn from your language itself that you are a bundle of contradiction.
Please be obliged to your duty to support the Indian Constitution by strengthening Strong Opposition moves, rather than maligning any community and rather than provoking the incidents which were already forgotten by most of Indians.Advani ji,kindly forsake your dream to raise Babri Issue again as a political gimmick

Mr. L. K. Advani was the instrumental and prime leader in the Babri Mosque demolition. For which he took so called padh-yatra from Ahmdabad to Mumbai (Bombay). When he became Dy.PM he had his record erased that he was not there in Babri Mosque Demolition, but everybody knows his participation in Babri Mosque Demolition. Almighty God will not pardon him nor in particular Muslims or even hindus, christian. God said no land-mark of ancestors is broken! whether it is belong someone or not.

At this age, he must teach youngestors good moral lesson and not to talk about Ms. Sonia Ghadhi, I hope must learn from Ms. Sonia Ghadhi, because he did nothing by being the BJP all these years. L. K. Advani hurt particularly, Muslims and Christians and in general hindus, by destroying religious places. Now he is trying to become Sadhu. He tried his level best to become PM by doing rubbish things and thought have India in two pieces, so that he can run away to Pakistan, that was the reason he praised Mohd. Jenhha while he visited Pakistan.

With grace I accept ur comments and agree to it in its full understanding. The places attacked/demolished were Gods home and not human abode. Definitly the infamous action by these leaders are haunting then like wild devil. Its not only the demolition of Babri masjid, but its after shocks and human massacre that followed in the length and breadth of India is really gruesome and unparonable.

How many lives were lost? God created us and gave on one and only life to live. Who gave these goons the authority to take away that life from its lawful owner?? Can they bring back the dead? Apart from that, the devide is widened and hate and venom has been spread. Without understanding the true meaning of their own religion, just for political gains, these dirty politicians have created walls between the neighbours. Everytime they open their mouth, they vomit venom and hate.

Everytime they speak about the danger to their religion. Infact there is no danger to any religion in India. Every religion is full of virutes and free to be practiced. But these hate mongers called self as protectors of hinduism. Hinduism more of way of life than a religion. Which way of life is in danger?? It survived the foreign attacks in the past and shall continue to survive in the future too. I dont have any problems with my hindu neighbours/friends and nor do they have. But our politicians certainly have problems with followers of other faiths. God is great. He shall punish the guilty.

He was concerned and sad about BJP's image after tearing Babri Maszid but not apologitic! Why?may he don't love himself!?may he is hypocrite or may he acting for something bigger post(PM) in the expense of Babri-M demolition?Another important issue of denting BJP image is Guj riots.BJP reaped in that issue temerarily but in the long run it should have to pay for it.Besides two major issues, attcking @ place of worships of Christians in Guj, Orissa, MP and now in Karanataka makes Sangparivar

To start with Babri masjid demolition was neither an accident nor a natural calamity. It was a well planned conspiracy and carried out by Advani himself along with other extremist elements. Funny enough he is admitting that he himself brought a bad reputatin to BJP. In what way does this acceptance of guilt help anyone at this stage. For the first time in Indian history he divided the country in the name of religion and instigated communal unrest in the country. India can never be the same again. After that our beloved Narendra Modi tried to walk in his footsteps and massacred thousands of muslims in Gujarat. May be all his misdeeds are haunting him in his old age.

If his confession and repentance is
real, at this old age, he can do
    something contructive.

He must spend his time to teach
the party cadre that using religion
for political gain is very dangerous and it will divide and
    destroy the nation.

Nobody can undo the past, so we
all must think in terms of looking
forward to build the nation. In
    the past, many religious worship
places were destroyed by the strong
in all directions, and there is
no way to change and rectify that
    violent past of destruction. We
must learn to forgive and forget
the past, and start learning to
love each other for a better
    tomorrow.

If the leaders are not cautious,
they can set fire to the whole
    nation through their provocative
    and venomous political rhetoric.
The leaders will be safe watching
the bloodshed and inferno from a
far of distance, but the innocent
people of all religions will be
    simply bleeding and burning also
more widows and orphans will be
wandering in the streets along with
    the strayed animals.

He had all qualities, capablitiesand qualifiaction to become Priome Minister of India, BUT may be GOD didnt wanted him to be just beacuse of this demolition which was his brain child.
BJP can withstand any amount loss which it had suffered, But Nation and the people of Ayodya cannot withstand the loss and insecurtity ( Both Hindus and Muslims) have been undergoing due to this demolition.
What is needed is Just forghet the past appologise to the nation of the demolition, try to win the hearts of all and specially of Muslims.

It took quite long time to this old man to understand that all Hindus were (nor are) communal. You can't have them both - you are either loved or hated. The hatred instigated by these political heads had seeped down to youth which is exactly what led to attacking places of worship in Karnataka. Probably they thought its is OK to attack a place of worship. However, BJP was intelligent enough to dissociate from Mahendra Kumar. Regardless, the damage in Karnataka too is done. Except for people like Nagesh Nayak, nobody approves attacks carried out by BD. We will wait and watch for the impact of the attacks in years to come.
