Bengaluru, June 21: Over 9000 students of seven government high schools in the Malleswaram assembly constituency in Bengaluru performed Yoga at the Mallewsaram playground under the leadership of Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan on Tuesday.
Dr CN Ashwath Narayan Foundation and Srikrishna Wellness Yoga and Cultural Centre had jointly organised the International Yoga Day celebrations.
The minister sat along with the students and performed various Yoga asanas.
``Yoga plays an important role in helping maintain health and control pressure,’’ Dr Narayan said while addressing the students.
Education Department Block Education Officer Umadevi, Malleswaram BJP mandal chief Kaveri Kedarnath and Srikrishna Wellness Yoga foundress Mimi Parthasarathy and others were present.
