Udupi: Alva's College Tops Mangalore Varsity Cultural Competitions, Hejje Gejje

Udupi, Mar 14: Alva's College, Moodbidri bagged the first place in Mangalore varsity cultural competitions ‘Hejje Gejje’ programmes, held at the aegis of Rukmini Shedty Memorial National Government First Grade College, Barkoor, near here on Monday March 14.  Padukere Laxmi Soma Bangera First Grade College, Kota was the runner-up.

Brahmavar police sub-inspector K Hosakerappa presented first prize of Rs 15,000 cash and a trophy to Alva's College and second prize of Rs 10,000 cash and a trophy to Padukere Laxmi Soma Bangera First Grade College.

National Government First Grade College principal C Rajashekar Hebbar presided.

College teachers, parents' association president P Himakar Shetty, retired principal B Sitaram Shetty; jurors Geetha Samanth, Tekkatte Surendranath Shetty and Gururaj were the chief guests.

Inaugural Ceremony

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary inaugurated the programme here on Sunday March 13 morning.

College education department regional office joint director H R Nararaj Aras, Mumbai BARC retired officer B Vishwanath Shetty, College chief educational advisor Ganesh Pai M, cultural programme co-ordinator Chandravati Shetty, lecturers Ramesh Achar, Chandrashekar Shetty, student union leader Ravindra Kottari, Divakar Shetty and Mahesh Kulal among others were present.
