Bantwal, June 21: “The Bantwal taluk agricultural produce cooperative society has conducted a business of Rs 8.33 crore and earned a net profit of Rs 21 lacs in the year 2021-22,” said the cooperative society president K Ravindra Kambali.

Presiding over the annual meeting at B C Road Lions Club auditorium on Tuesday, June 21, he declared a dividend of 15% for the members.

“The society has deposits of Rs 21.45 crores and has a capital of Rs 23.05 crore. There is no loan from any bank. Deposits of Rs 18.47 crores are collected in the district central cooperative bank and cooperative society,” he said.

“The society has received ‘A’ class in the audit report and the society distributes 60% goods through ration shops. Pesticide units and other equipment are being sold in the Bantwal branch for the convenience of farmers. Banking business and ration is being provided through ration shops. Private buildings are bought at B C Road and Thumbe and rented out. Loan facilities, e-stamping and ration is provided at Farangipete branch,” he said.

Society vice president Shashikala Udupa, director Umesh Poojary, Rajesh Shetty, Jnaneshwar Prabhu, Manoraj A, P Venkatesh Navada, Rohinath K, B T Narayana Bhat, Sunder Bhandary, Padmanabha Kidebettu, Ratna Poovappa and Rama Naik were present on the dais.

Chief executive U Dharmapal Bhandary read the previous year’s report and compered the programme. Director Venkatraya Prabhu proposed a vote of thanks.
