Mangaluru/ Udupi, Jun 23: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, Jun 23, reported seven new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered four cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,738 out of which 45 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,851.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Four corona cases were reported on Jun 23, the total active Covid cases are nine.

A total of 10,87,802 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,75,391 have received both doses and 88,707 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported three cases, Kundapura one and zero case in Karkala.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far
