Bengaluru, Jun 24: Sub-inspector M Shivanna collected a whopping Rs 2 lac in fines at Jnanabharathi junction here on Tuesday between 11 am and 5 pm. This unique achievement was tweeted with pictures by Kamakshipalya traffic police.
Shivanna collected fines for breaking the traffic rules in 249 cases. In the last six months, SUV owners have paid a maximum fine of Rs 36,000 for 36 parking violations in the city. But Shivanna broke all records and collected Rs 2 lac in just six hours.
Shivanna and his team were deployed at Jnanabharathi junction to check the violations. They stopped only two-wheelers and cars. Excepting SUV, around 15 cases were recorded against two-wheelers.
Most of the violations were for wrong parking, signal light jumping and for not wearing the helmet. Kamakshipalya police team appreciated the efforts of PSI Shivanna and said that they were proud of him for slapping 249 cases and collecting fine of Rs 2 lac.
