Kaup: Misappropriation of funds - Case filed against parish priest of CSI church

Kaup, Jun 26: A case is filed in local police station here in which a former member of the administrative committee of CSI Bethel Protestant Church Muloor has accused parish priest of the church of misappropriation of funds.

Harsha Kotian Muloor is the complainant in this case and parish priest Abraham Sunil Kotian is the accused.

It is alleged that Abraham Sunil Kotian, parish priest of the church has not given account of donations received by the church, offerings given by the faithful, collection of church hall and amount from selling of mangoes from April 1, 2021.

When the administrative committee of the church pressurized, the parish priest gave an account in November 2021. When the administrative committee said that the account details provided are not correct, Abraham sarcastically said that there is no necessity for him to give account details of the church to anyone.

Kaup police are investigating further.

    Recently there was a report of some corrupt temple priests having developed a duplicate website of the temple and were recieving donations; total of 20 crores was siphoned off and shifted to their private accounts over the years! Please stop donating huge sums to religious places as most of the money is siphoned off in collusion with the main comittee members and corrupt auditors; anyone trying to expose their misdeeds are thrown out!!

    God doesn't need money but wants to know who is giving, who is not, same with charity. Holy Scripture says Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Give, and it will be given to you. Also Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you and 10 % tithe to God, of ones earnings or profit from business. God does keep it but returns in blessings either more earnings or good health to reduce hospital bills! or other blessings. Finally, end of one's life nothing one takes except good works, whatever given to God and as charity. But looks like there are few judases in churches keeping the purse for themselves also looks like some communists have infiltrated churches to defame the churches and to bankrupt churches. /////// But God is the Oceans of Wisdom, knows all. These instances for corrections and for others to learn lessons not to fall trap to the greed of money as Holy Scripture also says Eyes of the God are ten thousand times brighter than the sun; they look upon every aspect of human behavior and see into hidden corners.

    Diverting money to personal/ family accounts is not acceptable. People donate in good faith for Church projects and give land for church infrastructure but misuse of the same for personal gains cannot be condoned. Cronyism in Church project also should be regulated by a strong regulatory authority comprising of lay people as well as Representatives from religious bodies .

    Overspending, greed is wrong also Priests are not on government jobs plus maintainance of worship places and its surrounding they need money. BTW God gives FREE OXYGEN, air, LIGHT and mostly importantly Rain or water! to the humanity. Also Priests, from top to bottom, are also on Divine Scanner or Judgement as Holy Scripture says Eyes of the God are ten thousand times brighter than the sun; they look upon every aspect of human behavior and see into hidden corners.

    People who donate do it with good heart thinking it will help some people who are in need. It is the responsibility of the person who collects these money. Coming to Protestant churches it was corruption in the latin church that lead them to be separate. But look at you now, the people running from corruption became corrupt themselves

    misuse of funds / misappropriation / diversion etc. of funds is the rule rather than exception in places of worship.... many places of worship accept donations / offerings from all communities and / or faiths but use the funds for family, kith and kith or own caste... many places of worship have unannounced / private hostels / choultries / charities etc. but only their own community members are given the benefit...

    What does he mean the church account need not anyone to know?Church account is should be open without hiding ,open for all to see where it goes from were it came and what is done with it.Otherwise no need of a church account,can be done as Private .Private cant be for all.That should be cleared to Priest.Also ,please keep open to everyone to see ,so that your hide and seek drama will be ended.Whichever church it is ,rules are same.

    Organised religion is one of the biggest money spinner in the world; people should think thousandX before donating money to religious places as most of the money is siphoned of! Today MONEY has become the most powerful God, all laymen should understand this and stop donating to religious places!!

    almost all religious leaders all over the world have become corrupt..so people should be careful while donating money to religious places. it may end up in the pockets of so called mukiyas of religion..better give it directly to some charity or even do some charity near your locality or homes...there must be some family or person who needs financial or even assistance in kind...

    Kujuji like you said in the last sentence of your comment nobody gives. Because, this charity no one will come to know. It will be in disguise. Only the taker and the giver will know...Suppose, if they give to such mukhiyas names are announced publicly....that time donors also get recognized in the society....
