Sullia, Jun 27: Two shops suddenly caught fire late night on June 25 at Panja market of the taluk. Good worth lacs of rupees was destroyed in the fire.
Fire erupted in Kukke Sri Hardware, owned by Ramesh Paloli and the cutlery shop adjacent to the hard ware shop, owned by Nutan. It is suspected that electrical short circuit must be reason for the sudden fire.
Locals, who saw the fire in shops, informed the owners and started to put in efforts to put off the fire. Fire service personnel also reached the spot in few minutes. However, both shops were completely burnt.
The fire service personnel were able to contain the fire so that it did not spread to the other shops in the vicinity.
