Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 29: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday June 29, reported 29 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered five cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,808 out of which 61 are currently active.
The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As many as five coronavirus cases were reported on June 29. The total active Covid cases are 29.
A total of 10,88,345 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,77,230 have received both doses and 98,421 people have received booster dose.
Udupi taluk reported three cases while one case was reported in Kundapur. Zero cases were reported from Karkala.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
