Jun 30: DK reports five Covid cases, Udupi adds four infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 30: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday June 30, reported five new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered four cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,813 out of which 49 are currently active.

The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.


Udupi

As many as four coronavirus cases were reported on June 30. The total active Covid cases are 25.

A total of 10,88,514 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,77,479 have received both doses and 100236 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported two cases, while two cases was reported in Karkala. No cases were reported from Kundapur.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
