New delhi: Fresh Expose Over TV Sting Operation Rocks Parliament

New Delhi, Mar 23 (TOI): Fireworks took place in Parliament on Wednesday after the government brought to light a fresh expose that could bring more shame to opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Quoting the Tehelka magazine, parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said the expose claims that the 2008 sting operation conducted by a television news channel over horse-trading for the trust vote was a deliberate trap laid out by top BJP leaders, according to Times Now.

The minister revealed details of the expose in the Parliament to blunt the opposition BJP's attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over his statement on the cash-for-vote scam. Bansal said that BJP leaders had outsourced the sting operation conducted by the news channel.

He added that the entire operation was done with the blessing of top BJP leaders with the intention to discredit the UPA government.

According to the Tehelka, it was not the Congress or the Samajwadi Party that were actively in search for MPs to buy in to the 2008 Indo-US nuclear deal trust vote. Tehelka exposed that it was the BJP which had set out to entrap either a Congress or an SP into buying three BJP MPs so it could pull off a successful sting operation and discredit the government.

In a shocking revelation, the magazine has named three senior BJP leaders Sudheendra Kulkarni, Arun Jaitley and L K Advani, who appeared to have given the sanction for the sting operation.

The reporter who conducted the sting operation in 2008 provided a first hand account of the truth to Tehelka magazine. Phone recordings and copy of the parliamentary panel report in possession of the magazine provided them with the basis of the cash-for-votes expose.

Indian political leaders that too BJP and its some groups are meant for fight, destruction, and communal riots. They know only how to destroy India and unstable the other political parties. It is very clearly witnessed in Karnataka State that BJP purchased MLA’s and other leaders. That is what they learned and practiced in their political life. There are thousands of examples and incidents where many of them buried by misusing the power, by threat, and by force. Hope there will be end for this and Karnataka State will flourish with good leaders.

Have you noticed that for the last couple of years, the opposition is just interested in disruption to discussion in the house and creation of a lot of noise. And in our Karnatake, our Honourable Chief Minister is only running between temples from Najangud to Shringeri. Question - Did we elect him to run around temples, or did we elect him to govern the state.

The politicians who we vote, are making us look like jokers. I have always believed... that if I have the right to vote a person to govern, I must have the right to recall him if he does not perform. Mr. BSY you have failed to perform. Temples and Churches are good.. but not at the cost of the tax payers money. Govern me or get out. It is the same with national politics. Jai Hind

Last time when wikileaks published information about congress some of the commentators commented that wikileaks is a false one and it is paid by BJP. When wikileaks published against BJP the commentators say that wikileaks is correct. Here i am not supporting the scam of BJP, but want to say to the commentators that please dont give your comments according to the political party.

BJP is past masters of mudslinging-hoping that atleast some would stick on clean khadi of opposite.
Now they throw a 'Boomerang'hoping to tarnish the image of ManMohan-& it comes back harder at them striking where they had hoped for their opponent.
Wilfred,M-UAE-just like u all the educated, civilised voters are feeling disgusted at the behaviour of our politicians in Lok Sabha,Rajya Sabha & our own Vidhan Sabha-where BJP & some regional party memebers indulge in this undemocratic(tactic) way of preventing other members from discharging their duties-which is their right, by shouting giving no heed or respect to Speakers Order or Chair. This shows, when they knew they cannot defeat the govt., they stooped so low to defame them by using "VAMA MARGA"-which is happening in Karnataka as well.

It would have been hard to sell this story, but looking how the Karnataka politics is played, it is more than evident that BJP is quite capable to do anything for power. It is ridiculous for a party that is founded on clean principles and an alternative to congress. I guess BJP thinks, everything is fair for power. It is non-sense logic in present context, given the fact that congress did walked on that path
for years and then taught a excellent lesson by people, kicking them out of power. They learnt their lessons, BJP is certainly going to be next, if they continue this way.

This is a big slap on the BJP. They do the same old practice by not allowing the house to have a fair discussion. They are so power hungry that they may go to any extent to tarnish the UPA image. I saw the parliament session on a TV channel and one could see the behavior of the uneducated BJP candidates. Honorable home minister answered all the opposition Arun Jaitley’s questions with evidences. Finally when they could not blame UPA anymore, All BJP candidates started shouting and not allowed the house to perform. Shame on BJP leaders and BJP in total.
