Mangaluru: Oath taking ceremony held at Dr MV Shetty College for student nurses

Mangaluru, Jul 9: The inauguration and oath taking ceremony of 35th batch basic BSc nursing and 26th batch GNM students of Dr MV Shetty College and School of Nursing was held at the college auditorium on Saturday July 9.

Addressing the gathering, principal of RV College of Nursing Bengaluru, Dr S R Gajendra Singh said, “I congratulate all the budding nurses for choosing such a noble profession. I want the all of you to interact with the patients with a healing smile as no one can substitute nurses. Protecting and safeguarding the patient is also essential. Groom yourself with updated technology, as quality makes a lot of difference than quantity.”

In her presidential address, chairperson of MV Shetty Memorial Trust, Dr Hima Urmila Shetty said, “The budding nurses should see a mentor in the faculty so that you can share anything with the mentor and have a meet on a regular basis. Smile is a part of your professional grooming. Be ready with a positive attitude and carry the light of your smile.”

Principal of MV Shetty College of Nursing, Prof Christeena Saju Varkey, administrated the oath to the students.

Rina Lasrado and Carol Pinto compered the event, Supriya Nayak welcomed the gathering and Kusumavathi rendered the vote of thanks.

Assistant professor Savitha was also present.
