Chikmagalur, Mar 24: Even as the state vice president of JDS minority unit, S Y Muqtar Ahmed, requested the district administration to cooperate with the Uroos planned to be organized at Bababudangiri hills under the leadership of Shah Khadri from March 26 to 28, district deputy commissioner, N S Channappa Gowda, clarified that no permission can be given for the same.

He was addressing the press persons after presiding over the meeting of the Peace Committee at the office of the deputy commissioner on Wednesday March 23. He said that Ghouse Mohiyuddin Sha Khadri and other Muslim leaders, who were present at the meeting, have promised to cooperate with the district administration. He clalrified that the district administration will be compelled to take legal action against any one who tries to hold another Uroos at the site. “In the petitions filed in the courts, it has been informed that this Uroos is held for three days beginning from the next day of Holi as per Hindu calendar. All the courts concerned have taken note of the same. The Supreme Court had asked for the observation of the Uroos by taking Shah Khadri too into confidence. However, Shah Khadri had not intimated about any proposal about change of dates of the Uroos,” he claimed.

The DC said that Uroos has already been held there from March 20 to 22, and asked Shah Khadri to get himself fully involved with the next Uroos proposed to be held between March 9 and 11 next year. He also said that the district administration is considering a proposal to ban the entry of tourists and pilgrims to Bababudangiri between March 26 and 28, the period during which the Shah Khadri has announced plans to hold Uroos. “We are watching the situation. We will take a decision soon,” he added.

He asked the devotees not to make efforts to reach the Datta Peetha in Bababudangiri during the above period, as holding of another Uroos there is out of question. District superintendent of police, Vikas Kumar, said that necessary security measures are being undertaken at the hill shrine to handle the situation.

No need of Uroos and visitations to Dargah. Its very much anti islamic and against basic tenets of Islam, i.e. monotheism.. These uroos and dargahs are like money spinnig machineries and the beneficiaries dont want to admit it as unislamic. Its like people advertising in TV and other medias calling the devotees to come and seek the pleasure of God/Goddess and Waliullahs... Absurd and has no meaning at all. Worship only the one and the Creator who created those buried inside the dargahs and maqbaras who have no power to defend themselves. How come they help others when they too are helpless and dead.....If any one finds a small reference that dargahs are valid and they have the power to intercede with God, I am eager to know...The reference must be from Holy Quran and authentic hadiths.....not from the inventions and innovations of later days...
