Karkala: Two brothers killed in scooter-car collision at Nandalike

Karkala, Jul 10: Two brothers were killed on the spot after the scooter they were riding collided head-on with a car in Mavinakatte of Nandalike here on Sunday, July 10.

The deceased are Sandeep Kulal (25), and his elder brother Sathish Kulal (28).

The accident occured while the brothers were traveling from Nitte towards Kadinje. A car that was traveling from Padubidri towards Karkala collided head-on with the two-wheeler. As a result, the brothers were thrown on the road. Sandeep Kulal died on the spot. Sathish Kulal succumbed to injuries in the government hospital in Karkala.

Sandeep Kulal owned the Shiva Chaya electrical shop in Nitte and was the treasurer of JCI in Belman. He was also active in several other organizations.

Sathish was a gym trainer in Belman. Karkala Rural police rushed to the spot. Police have registered a case.

    Negligent driving and riding is the root cause of all these accidents with daily loss of lives. This road is One of the best maintained roads in Udupi district. Sad and tragic loss of young lives.

    no control over speed....no safety followed by motorists....roads do not have signs...sudden bends..curves....humps without zebra markings or reflectors...Only God can save the third world country vehicle drivers, riders and pedestrians...

    O my God.cant believe this .Head on accident .Both brothers from same family are no more.Big shock to family ,parents .May their souls rest in peace.May God give enough strenght to parent to bear the pain.Whose failure here ?Whatever it is what on our streets is going on cant believe and sad.

    Haneef mangalore ,simply dont blame govt.alone .Riders too are not without failure.Without helmet ,wrong sides ,and fast riding ,overtaking etc .without licence.Noone knows how many are on roads without licence and stolen ones.Licence without trial only with money ?we are world champions for forgery.
