Nagendra (14), son of Laxmi Poojarthi, is the deceased boy.

He was a student of a private high school in Karkala and had been to the school grounds to play as it was a holiday. In the afternoon, when Nagendra went for lunch at the canteen run by his mother, she reprimanded him for playing in the rain. She also asked him to go home and have lunch as there was a rush in the canteen due to peak hours.

An upset Nagendra went home and hanged himself. A case in this regard has been registered in Kota police station.

Krishna Poojary, father of deceased boy Nagendra and husband of Laxmi Poojarti had died two years ago. The family was in debt as they spent a lot of money on Krishna’s medical treatment before his death. Later, Laxmi Poojarti was leading her life with a toddler son and daughter by running a canteen.

Laxmi banked on Nagendra to be her support and is extremely depressed over the impulsive act of her son.

Kids now a days think that life is a game. Most of the games now are so cruel and if you are out of weapons or in a loosing stage, you kill your self and start new game. This is so dangerous for the young society. Parents should completely avoid giving phone or any gadgets until certain age.

It's that boy's fault who didn't even think about his mother. Now a days mobile phones are very necessary for everyone, it depends on us how we use it. Kids do not know the value of life and don't even think about their families before committing suicide

Its so sad.Boy was now a teenager. At this age sometimes they develope some unknown feeling to any suggestions made as bad or dont care.Very sensitive to all and everything.Second he had no father who could lead to right path when dont care policy. He was alone ,mother working didnt know what to do,now mum sent home without giving ffod .He must have felt alone and not cared. He couldnt differenciate the situation his mother is going through .Bad luck.I find no fault of mother in this.Still feel very bad for her without any other help at home .After husbands death son was her hope. Now that too ended so.Heartfelt sympathy to her and daughter.May his soul rest in peace.Nowadays children are taking dangerous ,risky steps for small things go wrong. Please dont do it.You are harming not only yourself but your parents hard. Please dont throw your life so fast and easily .Its only you have chance to set it right.

So very sad with the shocking news. For a little reprimand - more like advice - getting even at his own mother by giving her unbearable shock and sadness. There are quire a few incidents of suicide for trivial matters by teenagers - often becoming despondent about school performance or exam. results. They are unable to control their emotions and go to desperation and without realizing they are no more. It is a mental imbalance issue where Life has no meaning to them.

It looks like the mother must have petted her son too much all these years. With the lack of a father figure in the family and a commanding force in the house, the little boy had developed a self-willed character with no sense of discipline. The distraught mother will live with a sense of guilt all her life. But she had done the right thing in reprimanding the boy and she is totally right in what she did. On the contrary, if she was petting him all these years, that would be considered wrong. I admire this courageous lady and our hearts should go out to her. These days our kids don't have high ideals to draw inspirations from. Very unfortunate.
