Light vehicles can travel on Agumbe Ghat, HMVs restricted till July 30

Udupi, Jul 12: The work of clearing the road after landslides were reported at 11 curves of Agumbe Ghat has been completed.

The administration has allowed the light vehicles to travel on the road from July 12, 8 AM onwards.

But, traveling by heavy vehicles is restricted till July 30.

The vehicles coming from the Shivamogga district can travel through NH 169 and 169 A via Thirthahalli, Koppa, Sringeri, and Karkala to reach Mangaluru.

Also they can use alternate roads by Thirthhalli, Masthikatte and Kundapur road, informed Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao.

    Light vehicles can travel?Look at the sides .How they have dug?When from above ,top the mud rolls down its end of the story.They never built a wall against this mud slipping down .So when heavy rain splashes down it will only take with everything with it.They should have made some step like manner the wall on sides..which engineer was responsible to this or contractor?Noone checked it?
