Mangaluru, Jul 13: The Kadugodi police of Bengaluru have arrested three persons including a couple and a woman in Mangaluru in connection with a murder of a gutka trader.

The arrested have been identified as Vishal Prajapathi (24) and wife Ruby Prajapathi (23) who hail from Uttar Pradesh and Gunjadevi (35), wife of Omnath Singh (40) of Bihar who was murdered.

Vishal Prajapathi and his wife Ruby Prajapathi were living in a rented house in Kadugodi in Bengaluru. All the three accused had tied up gutka trader Omnath Singh and kept him in the house for three days while subjecting him to torture. Subsquently, Omnath Singh was murdered and his body was packed in a gunny bag and thrown into the open drainage near the Ayyappa Swamy temple on the Belathuru-Kodigehalli Main Road, police sources said.

It is learnt that about three months ago Vishal had given Omnath Singh a loan of Rs 15,000 and had left for Mangaluru for some work. Ruby and Omnath are said to have become close to each other. Vishal got wind of their affair on his return. Ruby reportedly told her husband Vishal that Omnath was physically forcing himself on her which was conveyed to Omnath Singh's wife Gunjadevi leading all the three to conspire to kill Omnath.
