School children's trip to mosque takes communal turn in Chamarajnagar

Chamarajnagar, (Karnataka) Jul 13 (IANS): Hindu bodies across Karnataka have come down heavily on the management of a school for taking students on a trip to dargah and mosque on the eve of Bakrid in Gundlupet city of the district.

Strongly objecting to it, the Hindu Jagarana Vedike has raised the issue with the education department and submitted a complaint in this regard.

Authorities of Young Scholar School had taken UKG students on a trip to dargah and the mosque of Terakanambi town on July 8.

Local people allege that the students were made to offer prayers at the mosque and given preaching at dargah by a religious leader leading to a public outrage against the school management.

Despite the school management apologising for it and assuring action against the teachers concerned, the issue has taken a communal turn and is being discussed largely on social media.

According to the education department officials, the teachers had informed parents about the trip. The school management had apologised for the incident and have been instructed not to take children without informing the department.

Apparently, the school in question is owned by a BJP leader and the trip was a part of introducing new places to children.

Please understand that over 75% of India's population lives just above poverty line and they're uneducated or barely school pass outs, they hold low paying jobs and have no goals beyond existing. These are the ones who believe their lot in life will change because the BJP says we will oppress the minorities so their money, their businesses, their wealth, their opportunities, will all become yours and your children. You will become maaldaar. This is the Acche Din promised by the BJP and it's leaders in every bhashana. The problem is that to give the masses something, the BJP has no intention. They're selling a jumla, where they say, you will get Acche Din, we want more power, more power, more power. These voters of the BJP are going to be leaping around in chaddis, like Mowglis, dreaming of Acche Din, while the BJP fills the pockets of Adani, Ambani and their ministers. When the public realises, it will be too late, NaMo will say, chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai, Jai Sri Ram. Then, they will think, what a holy man, what a pure soul. etc. And they will believe they are the Hanuman to Sri Ram. That is the type of people in this country. He has turned the Ashoka emblem from Sarnath into the Chinese Foo Dogs (please Google and check the resemblance). These uneducated louts, who live on ration, reservation and rate cards, say they will support the BJP. Let them, let's sit back and watch the fun.India is entering the dark age now, for the next 10 years, do not go for loans, live on credit or incur debt. India will be losing everything she has earned, we will begin afresh in 2029. Till then, suffer as she is suffering, silent yet dignified.

I live in a village area, in Palghar district, this district is fully infested with such people, living their lives, generation on generation only on government handouts and ration. They go to work or don't work, they expect everything free. All of them, spend their whole day supporting one party, the Hindutva gang. They're the ones whose generations have survived on ration, reservation and rate card (corruption). So I think their plank is, they are Hindus so they should get everything free, on a platter. They've never paid tax in their generations. Income tax is a big question mark for them, as they have the benefit of Hindu Undivided Family in the IT bracket. The first thing the government should do is only give the 6% of population who is actually poor, handicapped, disabled, incapacitated, the ration. Rest of the public has to earn and be gainful. Else these sort of people, whose numbers have grown in India, will only keep increasing. The rest of us who work, pay taxes, live our lives as honest citizens will have to be slaves of these people.

When communal hatred and religious bigotry is being spread everywhere in a fearful manner, the school administration should have refrained from such a decision as various demonic groups are waiting for such opportunities to further their agenda and gain brownie points to appease their political gurus!

I don't know where we will reach. They want Hindu only. Ok, why in central Government Muslims ministers are inducted?? Now they are trying to nominate a Muslim person for Vice president post. Why this d ouble game. Students should not go for trip to see mosques, but our Government can ask Soudi Arabia to invest in our state. Shame, Shame.

Friends , Do you realize how polite and apologetic the Education Department is in this case. Reason: The owner of the school is a BJP leader. He can't make profit if his name is dragged in. Now Education Department is playing safe in the hands of their bosses.

All this foolish fights when the very existence of "God" is not proven yet. So far, it is only the fragment of wild imagination, which is grossly misused by few to earn their livelihood. The only solution is to ban all religions and teach them humanity and love instead.

Well…First of all, no one understood the real meaning of religion…everyone is busy with… my God, your God, I am last, I am first, my God is superior, my God is true, my God is powerful. In my opinion, all these so called “religions” are a bunch of Hippocratic groups. As a child we are born innocent, pure heart. Religions came to existence to inculcate good behavior into a child, so that he/she remain a good human being and his/her heart remain like a child throughout. If a groups agenda & teachings are to inculcate fear among people and hate towards other religions, then it can’t be a religion. So far we are not able to count the stars in the galaxy…but, it seems every groups have seen their own God…unbelievable but true.

Let them make a part of curriculum to take all Children to all the place of worship and let the children participate in all kind of Mass, Pooja and Namaz also other religion. Let the children understand from young that, end of the day everyone are going to Pray to their place of worship either to ask something from god and give gratitude to their respective god. It is far better than, children getting radicalized with one faith - going forward no one can claim they have seen heaven as all the heaven's are collapsed.

Dear Shetty i fully agree with you. Its the right of everyone to know about others, other religions, other religious places etc. I don't know why these sanghi hypocrites and hate mongers are trying to put their nose in everything and smell it. They would have not objected if the trip was to a mandir. /this type is hypocrisy should be stopped and govt should take stern action on these troublemakers. BJP govt is giving free hand to these trouble makers and no action is being taken even if these trouble makers ransack places of worship and loot valuable items from there including cash (it is sure that these trouble makers look out for cash ). Its the time to declare HJV as unsocial organization and ban them.

Lack of Education. Places of worship are places of worship. Making them pray to God whomsoever they consider as God can be done. Need not necessarily be an issue when I am sure a Hindu or a Christian will not know any of the ritual there. Myself and people I know when we were in Europe used to visit the Church. It is one of the peaceful places in town and we visited because, there was no temple there. That's why every Indian must be taught (education of religion) about all religions so that deriving identity from religious belief can be put behind and we could each other understand what we are celebrating and why we are celebrating during various festivals. As a Hindu, I have concerns about some aspects of other religion and that too which became prevalent due to mix of religion with politics and belief derived from the power of sword. But, I am also keen to learn about other religion and their sensitivities just as I find some of my friends from other religious dominions are curious about my religion. Just understand the timing of 5 wakt namaz...it is very interesting. Go to a dietitian and ask him how to lose weight, you might also want to fast during Ramadan or the time of your choosing and health benefits thereof. Fasting on Ekadashi (once a month) or Sankashta Chathurthi...all help derive rich benefits. No non-veg during Aati month or Shravan, also has important meaning.

When we were a kid, studied in a Catholic school, in front was the church, no one took us to the Church but we had a trip to Gomesteswara and 1000 kambada basadi, then didn't our teachers or we knew the rituals there? Why you have to be communal in each and every incident? You have a problem when a Muslim DC does Hindu rituals or a Christian does something? When you people will learn when God didn't differentiate between Humans who are we to differentiate? Remember, the consequences that our kids and their kids will need to bear in the future? How if Christian and Muslim countries be communal like India, then how the situation of Hindus will be there, many of them are citizens there? Don't paint everything as communal, let people follow their wishes in religions, you follow yours and let they follow theirs, Don't be religious police, India's situation sooner will be like of Sri Lanka if we continue to fight between us. Curse is real, REMEBER IT!
