BJP's Nation-Wide Campaign to Expose UPA's Failure: Venkaiah

Bhubaneswar, March 26 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch an almost three-month-long nationwide campaign April 6 to expose the failures of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, former BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu said here Saturday.

Describing UPA's second tenure under Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the most corrupt government India has had since Independence, Naidu said his party will expose all the misdeeds during the campaign lasting till June 30.

Lakhs of crores of rupees of public money is being looted and the prime minister is a willing spectator to this great loot, he said addressing a special meeting convened by the BJP's state unit.

Terming the UPA government as a government of scams, Naidu listed the 2G spectrum scam, Commonwealth Games scam, the export-import scam, the national highways scam, the Adarsh scam, the Madhu Koda scam, the aircraft purchase scam, the Prasar Bharati scam, and the Nalco scam as examples.

"These are only a few. The list is infinite and the government has no explanation for all these scams. The UPA has lost the people's confidence and its credibility is at an all time low," he said.

The BJP will highlight and expose the failures of the central government, particularly the massive corruption, black money, the issue of price rise, growing suicides by the farmers, and growing incidents of extremism ever since the UPA took charge, he said.

Around 60 senior leaders of the party will travel around the country and participate in district level meetings during this campaign, Naidu added.
