Team Mangalore Prepares for International Kite Fest in South Korea

Mangalore, Mar 26: Team Mangalore, the city-based hobby group of kite flyers, has been officially invited to participate in the Uiseong International Kite Festival to be held from Thursday March 31 to Sunday April 3 in Uiseong, South Korea.
 
This unique kite festival will showcase some of the best kites by flyers of international fame from around the world. Team Mangalore (India), a regular on the international kite flying scene will be taking part in this prestigious event. 

A four member team comprising Sarvesh Rao, Nitin Shetty,  Dinesh Holla, and Prashanth Upadhyaya (MRPL), will participate in this mega event.
 
Kites of all shapes and sizes will be on display including some massive character and theme based kites. It will be an annual gathering of all the kite lovers in South Korea and there will be workshops where people can learn everything from making kites to flying them.

Team Mangalore has previously participated in various international kite festivals held in Canada, UK, and most recently in France. In France, the team’s latest creation ‘Pushpaka Vimana’ got accolades.

At the recently concluded Udaipur international kite festival, the team won the first place in the ‘Unique Design Kite’ category.  The team also participated in the kite festival held in connection with the World Kannada Sammelana at Nanawadi, Belgaum.

The team will showcase their various kites which include ‘Kathakali’, the largest kite in India, and also various others such as ‘Yakshagana’, ‘Durga’, ‘Charlie’, ‘Owl’, ‘Gajaraja’, ‘Pushpaka Vimana’, 'bird,' bat series, and ‘Bharatanatyam’.
