Mangalore, Mar 28: Labhu Ram took charge as the superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district on Monday March 28. However, the new SP stayed away from mediapersons on the occasion.
 
He replaces Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, who has been transferred to Bangalore.


 

Know Your New SP
 
Labhu Ram is an IPS officer of 2004 batch and had been in Dakshina Kannada district for his field/practical training in 2006. He has also served as in-charge superintendent of police, Udupi district and as Hassan SP, among other postings.
 
Hailing from Barmar district of Rajasthan, he joined the Indian Police Service in the year 2004 after writing the UPSC examination in 2003. He cleared this exam in his first attempt and underwent training at Mussoorie (Uttaranchal) in September 2004. After 10 months of basic training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad he was selected for the Karnataka cadre and accordingly posted to DK district to pick up the basics of field policing.
 
Labhu Ram is a BSc graduate and holds a diploma in general nursing.

    It is very interesting to know that Labhu Ram is qualified in General Nursing. His predecessor Dr. A.S. Rao is a medical doctor and these two have something in common. I have known Subramanian Rao for some time as a good officer and at the same he is human and humane too. As a Police Officer Subramanian has done a very good job and set the standards. His successor - I am sure will carry out the tradition in a very tangible manner. I have met Labhu Ram earlier at the Office of the I.G.P. during the tenure of A.M. Prasad and I indeed look forward to meet Labhu Ram.

    I join scores of people in extending a warm welcome to Labhu. May his tenure be happy, long and fruitful.

    Mr Ram is Good hearted gentleman. with smiling face. It is nice to know that, Mr. Labhu Ram is having a Diploma in General Nursing. This shows that is really a good hearted and hard working person. Definitely he is having a good heart hence he is completed his nursing carrier. We pray for you Mr. Ram for your success and for the good future.
