Vijayanagara, Jul 22: In a chilling and gruesome murder case reported from Poojarahalli Kanniboraiahnahatti village near Kanahosahalli of the district, a jilted lover barged into the house of the girl, with whom he had affair, when she was sleeping alone and slit her throat with sword, took the severed head of the girl and surrendered in the police station.

This barbaric killing took place on Thursday, July 21. Nirmala (23), is the unfortunate victim of this incident. Bhojaraj of the same village is the accused.

It is said that both accused Bhojaraj and deceased Nirmala were in love with each other for some years. However, Bhojaraj had married some other girl, owing to pressure from his family members, three months ago.

Nirmala, did not take marriage of Bhojaraj with another girl seriously and was concentrating on her final year BSc Nursing studies. It is learnt that Bhojaraj was upset by the fact that Nirmala is not bothered about his marriage to another girl and killed her.
