Kundapur, July 22: A fisherman who had gone fishing in the company of two others at Padukare, Parampalli sea shore on Friday, has lost his life by drowning when the boat capsized.
Two other fishermen on the boat who also fell into the water swam to the shore. The deceased has been identified as Parampalli resident Sumanth Mogaveera.
Locals Sandeep, Prajwal and Sumanth had gone fishing in the sea in a country boat at about 11 am on Friday. Unfortunately, they were caught in a huge wave and all the three in the boat fell into the water. Though Sandeep and Prajwal swam and reached the shore, Sumanth could not save himself though he swam in between huge waves but was washed away.
Local people who had gone fishing nearby threw their net and pulled Sumanth up. He was shifted to a hospital in a Jeevan Mitra ambulance. The doctors examined him and said that he had died.
A case in this connection has been registered at Kota police station.
