No Power Cuts in Madhya Pradesh During India-Pakistan Match


Bhopal, March 30 (IANS) The Madhya Pradesh government has gone all out to ensure that people enjoy the India-Pakistan cricket semifinal clash in Mohali without a hitch - no power cuts between 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and half-day holiday in government offices and institutions.

"There would be no power cuts across Madhya Pradesh between 2 to 11 p.m. during the India-Pakistan semifinal match," Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced Wednesday.

"We have bought 1,000 mega watt power so that people can watch the match comfortably," Chouhan told reporters.

The state government has already declared half working-day in government office and institutions so that people can watch the India-Pakistan World Cup semifinal at Mohali in Punjab.

Earlier, a half-day holiday was also declared by assembly Speaker Ishwar Das Lohani.
