Bengaluru: BJP to field 40% new faces in next assembly elections – Veterans concerned

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jul 25: Veterans of state BJP are concerned after the political retirement announced by former chief minister B S Yediyurappa. The party is mulling is introduce at least 40% new faces in the next assembly elections.

Party sources say that high command is thinking of introducing 40% new faces in line of what was followed in last UP elections. BJP national leaders have been successful in their new experiments in north India and it is said that they are thinking of the same in coming Karnataka assembly elections also.

Among the current MLAs, those who are underperformers, not involved in organizing and strengthening the party and not keeping good rapport with party workers and public are said to be axed.

There is an unwritten rule in BJP that those who are above 75 years will not be give party ticket to contest elections. As Yediyurappa has voluntarily resigned, the other senior MLAs of the party are concerned about their future. It is learnt that the senior MLAs are thinking of getting party tickets for their children at least.

There are also rumours that the same constituencies will not be allotted to sitting BJP MLAs as there are accusations of them making secret deals with Congress and JD (S) and support them indirectly in nearby constituencies and make their seat safe.

This is a good start for Karnataka politics as we have seen same rotten leaders across all parties from our childhood. At least new faces need to be given chance and all parties should adopt this policy .As we saw greedy politicians like jandaran poojary contesting elections in 2014 at 77 even after loosing elections in same constituency for decades .

This is the only way they can at least save some grace in 2023... Udupi fellow if fielded again may loose deposit... Such is the public anger about their audacity and self serving nature... There is self goal situation in congress due to infighting that may add some seats... AAP has yet to make its bastions in the state... JDS is reduced to a bunch of jokers... We may once again witness hung assembly with lots of horse trading and sleeze videos... Forget about improvement in public works and governance...
