Daijiworld Media Network – Kaup (MS)

Kaup, Jul 25: The rate of chicken which sky rocketed 10 days ago in coastal region has slumped down. The price of eggs also have reduced considerably giving the joy of double treat to meat lovers.

The price of broiler chicken skinless meat was around Rs 240 per kilo just 10 days ago. With skin rate was Rs 220 and live chicken was costing Rs 180 per kilo. As of June 24, the rate of skinless chicken meat is around Rs 155, while with skin is being sold at Rs 135 and live bird rate is Rs 105 per kg.

The price of eggs which was sold at Rs 6.50 per piece is down to Rs 5.50. There is possibility that these prices may go down further during the week.

As auspicious occasions are more during summer, the rate of chicken and egg see an upward trend. Once monsoon begins the rate starts lowering for the next two months of Ashada and Shravana. The arrival of fresh fish in the market is also the reason for the fall in prices of chicken and egg. The prices will further rise only in the month of December.

When the price lowers suddenly it affects small traders who have the stock of chickens that are bought at higher price. Poultry farm owners also face loss as Rs 100 is required to bring the weight of a chicken to one kg. The price of chicken feed is increased as the prices of ingredients used for its preparation have shot up as per Arun Kotian, owner of Kurkalu Arun poultry farm.

In Kinnigoli, the chicken vendors are competing to lower the prices. A certain shop keeper sent message on social media that chicken is available for Rs 110 per kg on Saturday and Sunday and Rs 99 on Friday. Public thronged that shop immediately. However, other local chicken stalls quickly held a meeting and reduced the price to Rs 95 per kilo. The meat eaters of Kinnigoli are having a fest time since three days.

If you buy Chicken with intention of making Chicken sukka, no GST. If you buy Chicken with intention of Chicken Masala/Chicken Kurma, then 12% GST. If Butter Chicken OR Chicken Ghee Roast then 18% ;) ;) ;)
