Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 27: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday July 27, reported twenty new coronavirus cases while four cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,177 out of which 77 are currently active. As many as 29 patients were discharged on July 27.

One death was reported on July 27. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,853.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 2.78 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Four coronavirus cases were reported on July 27. The total active Covid cases are 26.

A total of 10,89,642 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,80,765 have received both doses and 1,61,378 people have received booster doses.
