Puttur, Apr 3: "About Rs 3,000 crore in excess taxes were collected in the state in this accounting year. It was decided to extend financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each to every small farmer across the state," said chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

Addressing media persons at St Philomena College, Darbe, on Sunday April 3, while on his way to Surbramanya Temple, Kukke, near here, Yeddyurappa said that the state tops the country in tax collection and even Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had also hailed the recent agriculture budget.

"The future course of action on diversion of the Netravati River project will be taken up after gathering people’s opinion," he said.

"In order to increase the underground water sources, natural ponds and lakes will be de-silted at a cost of Rs 5 crore in each taluk," added Yeddyyurappa.

"The first instalment of Rs 10,000 will be issued to small farmers in the state by the third week of April 2011 and the second instalment in the last week of August 2011. Progress review meetings will be held every Saturday in all district in the state," he said.

"The works on the Mani–Mysore state highway will be given a much needed boost and efforts will be made to clear the legal difficulties related to legalizing encroached land," stressed Yeddyurappa.

Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLA Mallika Prasad, BJP district president Padmanabha Kottari, BJP block president Gopalakrishna Herale, town councillor Kamala Anand, and deputy councillor Vinay Bhandary were present on the occasion.

RAGHU, Mangalore, Yeddy has accepted his mistakes and promised he will devote next two years in development of karnataka whole heartedly, let us forgive him, and give him second chance to pay for his sins, God will, once he wins 3 bye election with absolute majority he will do good for the state. You know his own party members are playing with him along with his former corrupt associate HDK. Despite all scandals & Lokayukta cases Yeddy has survived till 31st March, (I feel my Forecast has not failed but delayed, but take it as failed for the time being) means God want him to give another chance to change his habits.

I hope he will work for the development of state sincerely without empty promises. Else people of Karnataka will teach him a lesson in next election. Let’s wait for the bye election results. If he wins all the three means he will rule for another two years, else he will dissolve the assembly but there won’t be a change in leadership at all. There cannot be a BJP govt. in Karnataka without Yeddy as C. M.

Ugadi greeting to our beloved Chief Minister BSY and all our Hindu brothers, God bless him and he may win all the 3 bye elections, so that we may have a stable govt. in the state for next two years. Both Congress & JDS will lose this election becz they failed to keep a combined candidate. There Interest is in grabbing seat for their party n not for the benefit of the state. If they really meant what they say! They would have made seat adjustment in bye elections. Their ambitions are to pull the legs of Yeddy and not betterment of Karnataka public.
