Mangalore, Apr 5: “
She should be stoned to death,” the elders used to emphatically read the verdict. But can the innocent be lost that way? Prophet Daniel rose. “I am not the part of this injustice. The innocent cannot be victimized this way,” he said. And they were exposed and condemned.

‘Susanna’, a musical operetta penned by Fr Rudolf Pinto OCD with music by Alban, Honnavar,  was staged at Infant Jesus Shrine grounds at Bikarnakatte here on Sunday April 3.

The operetta is based on the Susanna’s episode that is found in the book of Daniel. The operetta impressed one and all, and the audience stood to give ovation for the performances of these simple amateur artistes from Honnavar, who breathed life into the operetta.

    Dear Fr. Rudy
I am proud of you. You made best use of your talents. I remember that you wanted to create a musical operetta when you were still a seminarian. Great, it is nice to see you fulfill your hearts longing. This is one of the best means to evangelize. Continue what you have begun. Congratulations to all who have acted in the play.

Great news! Having enacted in a musical operetta myself I know the kind of talent and hard work to be put in as a team for the success of such a stage event. Congrats!! Please inform when there would be a repeat of the show for the benefit of those who could not attend the first one. I wish for many such shows in the years to come.
