Udupi, Apr 7: "In the era of globalization, learning English is essential for the Muslim community, but it does not justify the lure of western culture," said All India Jamiat-Ul Ulama general secretary Kamarul Ulama A P Abubakker Musliar Kantapura.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Kannangar Jumma Masjid, which was rebuilt at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore, at Hejamady here on Thursday April 7.

"The local community has worked day and night for rebuilding this magnificent mosque and this has been made possible by Allah," said Abubakker Musliar.

He stressed the need for Madrasa education that enables the Muslim community to respond to societal issues besides religious teaching.

Abubakker Musliar symbolically inaugurated the mosque by entering from the main entrance accompanied with prayer service.

'Assiraj–2011', a bulletin that was published on the occasion of the inaugural of the renovated mosque, was released by Abubakker Musliar by presenting it to Kannangar Jumma Masjid president H B Mohammed.

Udupi district Kazi Shaikuna P M Ibrahim Musliar Bekal in his presidential address hoped that the renovated Kannangar mosque becomes a symbol of universal brotherhood.

Religious leaders Bolloor Ustad, Abdul Rashid Zaini, Mangalore Islamic Cultural Centre chief secretary B M Mumtaz Ali, Kannangar Jumma Masjid president H B Mohammed, Kannangar Uroos committee president K H Abubakker, and Mohammed Iqbal Dubai were the chief guests on the occasion.

Kannangar Jumma Masjid Mudarris Mohammed Ashraf Sakhafi Kinya welcomed the gathering of multi-religious people. S H Mohammed Hanif compered the programme. Masjid chief secretary Abdul Aziz Hejamady proposed the vote of thanks.

For the first time, to convey universal brotherhood, vegetarian food was served during the inaugural of a mosque. Over 8,000 men and women of diverse religions, castes, and creeds from across undivided Dakshina Kannada district participated in the meal.

People of different religions have been arriving at the Masjid that was rebuilt as per Russian architecture at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore. The interiors of the Masjid and domes attracted their attention. The local fishermen expressed hope that the magnificent Masjid will serve as a beacon light while fishing in the deep waters of the Arabian Sea.

" Congratulations " to all muslim brotheren of Kannagarians. Really beautifull monument of Mosque. A admire, provdness, and real happiness to local muslim brothers to fuulfill thire religious needs. But the Question is What really God of Almighty ( Allah ) needs? Whether he need to stay among with us, He really need monument like this...? ( Masjid, Church, Temples, Gurudwaras, ext.. ext..?) The human body's it self should be the temples of Almighty...! All other things, just perpose of need of humanbeing...! GOD BLESS AND PEACE TO ALL.
