Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 6: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday August 6, reported 15 new coronavirus cases while seven cases were registered in Udupi.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,333 out of which 81 are currently active. As many as 3 patients were discharged on August 6.

Zero deaths were reported on August 6. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,854.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.

Positivity rate for the day stood at 1.58 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

Seven coronavirus cases were reported on August 6. The total active Covid cases are 33.

A total of 10,90,037 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,83,306 have received both doses and 1,88,140 people have received booster doses.

Udupi reported one case, while Kundapur added five cases and Karkala reported no cases.
