Mangaluru, Aug 7: In a tragic accident that is reported from city, a young scooter rider, in an attempt to avoid a pothole on the road, rammed his two-wheeler into a road divider and died. This accident occurred on August 6 on NH 73 near Kandettu Cross, Bikkarnakatta.

Aathish (20), a resident of Konchady, is the rider who lost his life. He was going towards Bikarnakatte Kaikamba from Nanthoor Junction. He did not notice the pot hole that was before the divider at Bikkarnakatte Kandettu Cross due to rainwater. At the last moment, when he tried to evade the pothole, he lost control on his vehicle and hit the road divider. The scooter jumped to a distance of 50 feet from the spot where it hit the divider.

Aatish’s head hit against the iron reflector pole that is installed between the divider. A seriously injured Aatish was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed on the way.

A case in this connection is registered in traffic east police station.
