Kundapur: Family on pilgrimage – Thieves steal cash, gold worth lacs

Kundapur, Aug 7: Thieves entered a locked house, the members of which had gone on pilgrimage and stole cash and golden ornaments. The theft has been reported from Vinayaka Nagara of Kumbashi village.

The theft has taken place at the house belonging to Manjunatha Jogi. He and his family members had gone to Pandarapura and Shirdi temple pilgrimage from July 29 to August 5 when the incident occured.

On the morning of August 5, when the family came back and opened the house they found the backdoor of the house broken and the cupboard ransacked.

The thieves have stolen a golden bracelet weighing 8 gms, a golden chain weighing 12 gms, a ring weighing 4 gms, another finger ring weighing 3 gms, the total value of which is estimated at Rs 1.20 lac. In addition, the thieves also took Rs 13, 500 cash.

A case in this connection is registered in Kundapur police station.
