Udupi: Depressed mother with twins rescued by social worker

Udupi, Aug 8: A woman, who was distraught because of family feud, was crying at the city bus stand here with her twins and saying that she will go somewhere in train rather than live with her husband. Social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, who came to know about the woman and children rescued them and got them admitted to Sakhi centre. This incident occurred on Sunday August 7 night.

The woman hails from another state. Vishu Shetty got information from a bus conductor about her and rushed them to Sakhi centre in his vehicle and got them admitted. Police personnel on 112 emergency line, also supported in the rescue act.

Sakhi centre is a project of Women and children development department and works 24x7 at Nittur. Any women, who are helpless can contact Sakhi and get counselling, legal assistance and shelter.

    Everybody is blaming the husband. I think the poor husband's version of truth also must be heard. This lady must be throwing tantrums and walked out on him. Now he must be missing his children. No respect for Majority community in this world. And no respect and justice for men. Its a womens world

    Pintu Singh Kudla ,yes everybody is not complaining about husband ?No ,there are also many who take care of their family.But some who are not even thinking they have family with children.So let this lady herself explain why she doesnt want to live with husband .Even there are two children and let us talk later.Feel pity for them specially with children .Some men take it for granted wife will do everything or should ?Good there are social worker who come to help in time.But sometimes too late.Hope her condition get better.

    Great human service by the true Samaritan Mr. Vishu... Many marriages are failures thou couples pull on as is there are no options... Society has been changing its stance lately and is becoming increasingly humane to the people in depression... God has saves the woman from committing the unwarranted... Cute little children have a hope... May God shower his Grace upon them...
