Sullia: Video of youth brandishing sword in public goes viral, arrested

Sullia, Aug 10: The police here arrested a youth who was wandering around brandishing a sword.

The arrested is identified as Sandeep. A video footage of Sandeep walking with a sword had gone viral on social media. The police who saw it registered a suo moto case against him.

The youth is said to be an alcohol addict. He had given up alcohol during the last eight months. As he started drinking once again a day ago, he lost his mental stability and acted in this manner, it is said.

The police advised the public not to panic.

    I believe the Karnataka govt should legalise those making like the iron mongers, the retailers, and those who purchase machetes, long Koitos, and sword as well as daggers, knives with huge penalties and harsh imprisonment if caught making, storing, selling, buying without proper and specific purpose recorded in the retailers or iron mangers shop. This will contain the menace of gangsters using them openly to hack their targets. No use catching or booking a drunkard with a small Koito unless the government bans selling of what makes a person drunk Booze! Which I believe will bring down crime in Karnataka to 10% from the present 200%.
