Bengaluru, Aug 11: After his recovery from Covid infection, a renewed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday dismissed rumours of change of leadership in the State as ``totally baseless’’ and promised to work two hours more daily.
Speaking to reporters near his residence in Bengaluru, the Chief Minister claimed that the rumours about change of leadership were 'politically motivated'.
“All these speculations have made me stronger and have given me inspiration to work more for the people. I will spend two hours more for the welfare of the people and the work for the development of the State,’’ he said.
Bommai also said the ruling BJP will be strengthened in the coming days and the party will reach out to the people.
The Chief Minister said the opposition Congress wants to create confusion in the minds of the people. But the people are smart and they can see through their games. “I have become more determined,’’ he said.
Later, he flew to Mysuru by helicopter from the HAL Airport along with Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and Kannada film actor Yash for touring the rain-affected areas in Mysuru and Mandya districts.
