Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 11: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, August 11, reported six new coronavirus cases while eight cases were registered in Udupi.
The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,36,384 out of which 54 are currently active. As many as 14 patients were discharged on August 11.
Zero death was reported on August 11. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,857.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authorities.
Positivity rate for the day stood at 0.98 percent.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
Eight coronavirus cases were reported on August 11. The total active Covid cases are 28.
A total of 10,90,144 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,87,311 have received both doses and 2,00,339 people have received booster doses.
Udupi reported two cases, while Kundapur and Karkala registered six and zero cases respectively.
