Sullia, Aug 15: Earth shook once again at the border area of Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts on the Sunday, August 13 evening.
The tremors were felt at Kalmakaru and Kallugundi area around 6.30 pm with a huge sound. Residents of Mentekaje and Gulikkana also felt the shaking of earth. The sound was heard even to distant Kollamogru.
Vibrations were felt at Chattekallu at Kallugundi and Mangalapare of Koyanad for some seconds.
Locals say that they are concerned about the earthquake as the rain that lashed this area on August 1 had caused widespread damage.
Around 45 days ago, earthquake was experienced for seven to eight times in a week at Sullia and surrounding areas. Chembu and Aranthodu were the epicentres. Some house under the limits of Sampaje had cracks on their walls.
